BRHS football plays North Central this Friday at North Central in the 1st round of the sectionals at 7:00. Come support Rocket football!

Congratulations to the JROTC Olympic Team:
David Barrett, Ashley Davis, Ebony Davis, Laquina Douglas, Brandon Harris, Lanisha Houston, Larry Jackson, Shawn Johnson, Charles Rohrbach, Daniel Simms, Rodney Stevenson, and Helen Wagersfor an outstanding performance at Saturday's competition! The team took first place awards in the 1-mile run, the 110-yard dash, the truck pull, and last, but certainly not least, took the first place overall award! Well done cadets!

Century-Leadership, Learning & the Global Economy Conference - The Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) at the University of Indianapolis is hosting the conference, Wed. Nov 1 & Thurs, Nov 2 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Union Station downtown. This conference
is significant in the fact that conference participants will interact with education professionals and business and community leaders to connect high school redesign, community aspirations and economic and workforce development to positively impact Indiana's future. $130 per person.

BRHS ALUM IN THE NEWS
ABRAHAM BENRUBI, portrays Ben, the local bar owner, in the fictional town of Elmo I the new ABC series, Men I Trees. Benrubie played Jerry for years in the tv show ER and, when in Indy a few years ago, was a Ripples judge. His cousin, also a BRHS Alum, TED MILLER is co-owner (with Benrubi) in Broad Ripple’s Brugge Brasserie.

News about two more recent and not-at-all famous BR graduates LAURA McCABE has headed to LA to try her luck in theatre. Laura spent a year in Chicago, furthering her theatre education before heading west.

KATHERINE VAN WYK will perform in this years’ Yuletide as a tap dancing Santa.

PBA Day (Prof. Devel.) – Middle schools out all day, other schools out ½ day
Phase 3 Community Meeting – 7pm @ #63 (1163 N. Belmont)
Five years ago, IPS began a 10-yr program to improve school buildings. Phase 1 and 2 projects are underway * and a few have been completed. Now it’s time to consider the timing and funding for the remaining 48 elementary schools and seven middle schools that still need renovation. IPS and the community pledged to provide equal and updated facilities for all IPS students. These meetings begin the process to fulfill that promise. Share ideas –Ask questions – Get an update on Phases 1 & 2
